1. Prevent dry mouth by sipping water throughout the day. This helps wash away plaque and bad breath.

2. Tap water contains fluoride and strengthens your enamel. This will help strengthen your teeth against harmful bacteria and decay.

3. Limit carbonation. The acidity of carbonated beverages can be harmful to your enamel.

4. Drink with a straw. If you drink beverages other than water, reduce their contact with your teeth by using a straw and finishing the drink more quickly vs. slowly sipping.

5. Drink unsweetened tea. Tea contains elements that suppress bacteria and can slow down tooth decay and gum disease.
